University of Sydney Vice-Chancellor Mark Scott Visits NAEA

On November 7, a delegation of six from the University of Sydney, including Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mark Scott, and Deputy Vice-Chancellor Emma Johnston, visited NAEA. Hou Huijun, Party Secretary of the CPC NAEA Committee and Executive Vice President, met with the guests. Vice President Yu Jingtian andSenior advisor for International CooperationChen Liping, and the International Cooperation Office Director Jing Meiying attended the meeting.

Madame Hou expressed that as a globally renowned institution, the University of Sydney is highly regarded by Chinese education community and is popular among Chinese students studying abroad in Australia. NAEA has actively built platforms to promote exchanges and cooperation between the University of Sydney and Chinese university administrators studying at NAEA. Hou also expressed hope for sustaining robust bonds with the University of Sydney, particularly in areas such as joint research on educational leadership, faculty exchanges, and interactions among university administrators. During the meeting, on behalf of the NAEA, Hou presented the letter of appointment to Professor Mark Scott as a visiting professor.

Before the meeting, Vice-Chancellor Scott delivered a report titledThe New Era of Australian Education Reformto current participants ofthe 4th Training Program for MOE System Middle-level Managers (the 70th Training Program for Middle-level Managers from HEIs).

The University of Sydney and NAEA have established friendly relations since 2007. This visit is Vice-Chancellor Mark Scott's first to NAEA since he assumed his current role in 2021.
