On November 22, a delegation of six, led by William Lim, Director of the Planning Division of Singapore Ministry of Education, visited the NAEA. Hou Huijun,Party Secretary of CPC NAEA Committee and Executive Vice President, met with the guests. Vice President Yu Jingtian andSenior advisor for International CooperationChen Liping, along with the International Cooperation Office Director, Jing Meiying, and Deputy Director Chen Zheng, attended the meeting.

On behalf of NAEA, Hou Huijun warmly welcomed the Singapore delegation and briefed them on NAEA’s key international cooperation initiatives during the 14th Five-Year Plan. NAEA stresses the importance of expanding the global outlook and strengthening the competences of education administrators. The academy strives to establish a specialized, high-level, nationally leading and globally renowned institution for cultivating administrators and teachers. Since 2023, the NAEA has engaged in various joint endeavors with Singapore, including sending one vice president to a senior administrative management program organized by the Chinese and Singapore Education Ministries. Also, an expert from the National University of Singapore has taken up a visiting professorship at NAEA. Madame Hou voiced aspirations for expanded cooperation moving forward, especially on developing education leadership skills and upgrading teaching competencies.

William Lim expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and conveyed support to enhance cooperation between institutions in Singapore and the NAEA in areas such as educational policy research and educational leadership development. The two sides also shared views on critical educational topics.

This October,Mr. Tang Jui Piow, First Secretary of Education at the Embassy of Singapore in China, attended the opening ceremony of the 2023 International Week and had a dialogue with the NAEA as the representative of the guest country of honor. The visit from the Singapore Education Ministry is an endeavor to implement that dialogue between the two sides.
